A Lincoln Loft

I had a great project this last year.  I was summonsed to transpose an apartment above a business in downtown Lincoln into a swanky loft for the business owners.  When I walked in the first time, I walked into a tiny little kitchen, right at the top of the stairs.  A lot of awkward areas, some ceiling lines that were all over the place and some really bright purple paint!  But I could see the gem beyond the purple.  The space felt good, the natural light was amazing and the bustle of a city was outside the front door.  I LIVE FOR THIS!   For those of you who love to see the before and after plans- here ya go.

before and after

We gutted that joint!  We made this loft modern and comfy and a great place to be for family, parties or just living!  Look at the befores and afters and let us know what you think.

Entry Stairway- Added lighting, trimmed in the stairs and added a patterned carpet. Fauxed the walls to a metallic, and added a floating glass railing to open up the space.

Kitchen- We moved it out of the entry way!  This couple entertains so we used the space in the back of the room to serve the kitchen, bar and table (all in one).  I designed a table that spills into the Great room, but is capped off with a bar to make it casual and compact.

Great Room- I moved it where the kitchen was and added a great fireplace wall that frames their TV.  That thing can be seen from everywhere.

We added a powder bath that also acts as a guest bath with a hidden shower.  This is accessible from the overnight room- which is where guests have their own place.  This powder is also accessible from the main living area.

Master Bedroom- The couple wanted a loungy bedroom with a bathtub in it.  I loved doing something so unconventional and look how cool it turned out.  We made this room large enough for  a sitting area, tub, bed, TV viewing and dog beds.  The whole fam damily has room there.

Master Bath/Closet and Laundry- this area tuned out beautiful, a private toilet with a bidet seat, double sink, and huge walk in shower .  What’s hiding behind it?  The closet …………what’s beside it- the laundry and more closet.  Imagine that a laundry right where you need it most.

As I said above I love space planning and design and live for the wow-  I got it on this one!  Thanks Guys-
